After 12 wonderful years of pouring their hearts into The Roost, Jessica and Michael have decided it’s time for a new adventure. They’re now looking for the right people to take the reins and carry this special place into its next chapter. The winery is for sale, and they’re hopeful someone will continue its legacy of handcrafted wine, warm hospitality, and stunning views.
If that person doesn’t come along, The Roost will bid farewell and close at the end of the year. But until then, it’s full steam ahead—and they’re planning to make this final season one to remember. Look out for special product features, events and promotions over the season. If you’re a Wine Club member, you’ll still have first access to all of these, plus your existing Club perks.
While this may be the last chapter under Jessica and Michael’s care, everything you love about The Roost remains unchanged: the welcoming atmosphere, the award-winning wines, and the unforgettable setting in the Beaver Valley. Whether you’re visiting for a tasting, a glass on the patio, or just to say hello, we’d love to share this meaningful season with you.
And if you—or someone you know—has dreamed of owning a winery, this could be the moment. The Roost is a thriving, turn-key operation with a loyal following and plenty of potential. Let’s find the next perfect stewards.

A One-of-a-Kind Property
At the heart of the offering is our 104-acre estate nestled above the Beaver Valley, just minutes from Thornbury and Collingwood. The land is mostly clear and gently rolling, with a mix of open fields, mature woods, and 5 acres of established vineyard.
The residential portion of the property includes a 5,000 sqft (finished) custom-built home by Rainmaker – Henry Gilas, designed to take in the expansive views with double-height windows, cathedral ceilings, and generous open-plan living spaces. The home features geothermal heating, multiple wood-burning fireplaces, a walk-out lower level with wine cellar and steam room, and plenty of flexible guest space. Outdoor areas include a wrap-around porch, stone patios, landscaped gardens, and a large pond.
The Winery & Commercial Facilities
The winery itself is housed in a beautifully renovated barn designed for hospitality and production. The 2,200 sqft upper level includes maple floors, a large bar, expansive tasting area, four washrooms, light commercial kitchen, and a mezzanine office overlooking the space.
Below, the 1,800 sqft production area features in-floor drains, epoxy floors, a lab, and covered crush pad. The building has its own well, tertiary septic system, propane heat, and AC. A separate 1,700 sqft outbuilding provides climate-controlled storage and space for farm equipment or future expansion.
For Buyers & Dreamers
The winery business is available for purchase separately, offering a turnkey, award-winning operation with a strong reputation, loyal following, and room to grow. For buyers seeking a lifestyle opportunity, it’s a chance to step into a fully functioning vineyard and winery with deep roots in the community.
However, if the business isn’t purchased, it will wind down and the property will be sold without active winery operations.
If you—or someone you know—has dreamed of owning a vineyard, running a winery, or starting a new chapter in one of Ontario’s most beautiful regions, we’d love to connect. You can explore the full listing on MLS, or get in touch directly with us or our agents (details below)

Sale FAQs
Is The Roost closing?
Not right now. We’re open for the 2025 season and continuing to operate as usual while trying to find a buyer. If no buyer is found by the end of the year, we plan to wind things down in a thoughtful and celebratory way.
Why are you selling the winery?
This has been a heartfelt decision. After over a decade of building The Roost into something we’re incredibly proud of, we’re ready for a new chapter — and hopeful that someone else will continue the story here. The winery is profitable, has a great reputation and is an amazing lifestyle investment.
What does the sale mean for customers this year?
Nothing changes for the 2025 season. We’re still open, releasing wine, and welcoming visitors to the tasting room, events, and the patio — just like always.
Will Wine Club benefits still apply?
Yes! All Club discounts, perks, and early access benefits are in full effect. You can expect the same care and attention we’ve always given our Club members.
Can I still visit the winery?
Absolutely. We’re open for tastings, purchases, and events throughout the season. We’d love to see you.
Are you still making wine this year?
We’ll be releasing brand new wines from the 2024 vintage through the year. If a buyer is found, harvest will likely proceed as usual.
What happens to gift cards I’ve purchased?
All gift cards and credits remain valid through the 2025 season in person or online. New gift cards will only be sold for experiences in 2025.
What if I want to buy a large order or host an event this year?
Go for it! We’re taking bookings and fulfilling orders as usual. The Roost is still very much open for business.
How can I stay updated?
Join our newsletter or follow us on Instagram and Facebook. We’ll share updates as the season progresses.
Can I buy the winery?
Maybe! If you’re seriously interested or know someone who might be, please reach out to our Realtors, contact details below. They’d be happy to talk.
